Costumes
Hair &
Make Up
Once costumes arrive they are distributed to students who do not have past due account balances. Please keep costumesprotected and stored in a safe place until the recital. Do not allow students to play in their costumes. We cannot guarantee a replacement this close to the performances. Costume fees do not include shoes and tights. Students required to wear tights are encouraged to purchase them at the studio. Alternatively, parents may ask their classroom teacher for the exact kind to purchase elsewhere.
Light stage makeup is recommended. Eyes should be enhanced with eye liner, mascara, and eye shadow (brown on the lid and a lighter "highlighting" shade under the brow). Eye brow pencil is recommended for fair students. Lipstick and blush are necessary to keep faces looking fresh. Female students must have their hair parted in the center with a low bun unless otherwise instructed by their teacher. Hair nets and bobby pins are necessary to keep buns in place and looking neat. Bun kits are available for $5.00 each at the front desk.
Parents of younger students/boys may volunteer to assist backstage. These volunteers remain with their dancers throughout the show and will be able to watch their child's group perform. Backstage parents are strongly encouraged to bring activities for their group such as games, coloring, etc., to keep dancers settled and occupied. They do not need a ticket.
